PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche men's soccer returned home for a non-conference matchup against Hiram on Wednesday. Unfortunately, for the Redhawks, it ended in defeat by a final score of 6-1.
The Terriers wasted no time opening the scoring, netting a goal at 3:26 to take the lead.
La Roche responded just 12:17 later, when Austin Emery found the back of the net, assisted by Jayden Fezatte to even the score 1-1.
The tie lasted just 5:24 when Hiram scored to make it 2-1 and then upped the lead to 3-1 at 29:01, which would stand at halftime.
Out of the break, the Terriers once again netted a pair of goals in a short span of 4:23 at 58:50 and 63:13 to move the score to 5-1, then netted the final goal of the game at 81:58.
La Roche now prepares for AMCC play on Saturday, Sept. 28 as they welcome Penn State Behrend to the Baierl Athletic Complex. Opening kick is slated for 2 p.m.
