La Roche Falls To Pitt-Greensburg In AMCC Play

GREENSBURG, Pa. – La Roche men's soccer saw its playoff hopes take a hit, as they were defeated by Pitt-Greensburg 6-1.

 

After scoring just 1:10 into the match, the Bobcat lead would stay that way going into the halftime break.

 

Through 16:24 of clean second half soccer, the lead stayed 1-0, until UPG went on a flurry, scoring four goals in 7:09 from 61:24 through 68:33 to jump ahead 5-0.

 

The Redhawks lone tally came 8:26 after the fifth Bobcat goal, as Ramadhan Hamis Nkubas scored unassisted to make it 5-1.

 

UPG added one last tally only 3:58 later to end the afternoon 6-1.

 

The shot total was highly in favor of the Bobcats, 33-6 and shots on goal also favored UPG, 19-3.

 

Between the pipes, sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Rizzo made 11 saves on 16 shots faced over 68:34, as fellow sophomore Logan McQueen saw 21:26 of action, stopping two of three shots that came his way.

 

Nkubas was the team leader, taking four of the team's six shots, while he and two other reached the cage.

 

La Roche concludes its 2023 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 21 as the Redhawks celebrate Senior Day against Hilbert.
