Redhawks Shutout Wells 1-0 For First Conference Win

AURORA, N.Y. – In a defensive battle, La Roche men's soccer came away from Saturday's matchup against Wells with its first AMCC win of the season, defeating the Express 1-0.

The lone goal scored in the match came at 413:34 when Jake Gorman found the back of the net, unassisted, for what would go down as the game-winning goal.

The Redhawks had a great day on the offensive end, finishing the game with 24 shots, nine of which were on target.

The La Roche defense was great as well, limiting Wells to just eight shots and four on goal.

Between the pipes, sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Rizzo halted all four shots he needed to, earning the clean sheet in the process.

Tyler Bryan had a team high seven shots in the game, while he and three other, including Gorman had two shots on goal.

The Redhawks return home for a three game home stretch that begins on Wednesday, Oct. 4 against Mt. Aloysius. Opening kick is slated for 4 p.m.
