Redhawks Fall To Penn State Behrend In AMCC Opener

ERIE, Pa. – La Roche men's soccer kicked off AMCC play on Saturday, unfortunately falling to Penn State Behrend by a final score of 8-1.

 

It was all Behrend in the first half, finding the back of the net seven to, with the first goal coming at 3:57 to take a commanding lead into the half.

 

Out of the half, La Roche capitalized on its lone goal of the game, scoring at 48:05, when Miles Jackson netted his third to make it 7-1.

 

Behrend ended the scoring at 62:32 with its eighth tally.

 

The final shot total saw Behrend take 35 shots, with 22 on target, while the Redhawks had two shots and one on net.

 

Between the pipes, sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Rizzo halted eight of 15 shots his way, while Logan McQueen stopped six of seven.

 

Jackson would have the lone shot on goal, while Jake Gorman had the second shot.

 

La Roche now turns its focus to Penn State Altoona, for its third straight road contest on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Opening kick is at 6 p.m.
