Redhawks Fall In Home Opener To Cougars

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche men's soccer opened the 2023 home portion of the schedule on Saturday, unfortunately falling to the Chatham Cougars, 5-0.

Chatham was the aggressor early and often, netting three goals in the first half, following that with a pair of goals in the second half.

It was a tough afternoon for Redhawks (0-2, 0-0 AMCC) who were concluding a back-to-back after a late PM start on Friday.

Despite the final shot total seeing the Cougar stake 20 shots, with 12 on target, La Roche had eight shots and six on the frame, having its fair chances of opportunities.

Between the pipes, sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Rizzo made seven saves on 11 attempts.

Malvin Madzimbamuto led the offensive with three shots, all on goal, with Jesus Angel Jimenez following with two.

The Redhawks as they return to the pitch at 4 p.m. on Wednesay, Sep. 6 when they host Bethany at the Baierl Athletic Complex.
