Harriett Nets Game Winner as Redhawks Earn AMCC Win at Bradford

The La Roche men's soccer team took the road for a Saturday conference game at Pitt Bradford. The Redhawks came ready to play and earned a 4-3 win.

Kyle Harriett scored twice including the game winner. Firas Abduljawed netted the opening goal and Ximo Vicent scored on a penalty kick. Harriett, Abduljawad, and Vicent all tallied helpers.

La Roche came out hard and fast. In the eighth minute, Abduljawed finished a Harriet pass into the back of the Bradford net. Bradford snuck one in two minutes later and tied the score at 1-1. The Redawks kept bringing pressure and earned a penalty kick. Vicent remained composed and converted the PK to take a 2-1 lead. Bradford received their own PK just a minute later and both teams entered intermission tied at 2-2.

The Redhawks came out determined and focused in the second half. Bradford however grabbed the lead, chipping the ball over the keeper in the fifty first minute. The Redhawks stayed resilient and continued to put pressure on the Bradford net. Abduljawed provided a thru ball to Harriett who finished it into the lower left corner, tying it at 3-3. Hungry for more, Harriett came out hard and fast. Vicent crossed the ball and Harriett fired a shot into the right corner of the Bradford net for a 4-3 lead. The Redhawk defense stayed strong and connected, keeping the score 4-3 at the end of the game.

The Redhawks will look for their second straight victory when they travel to Hilbert on Saturday.
