
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – La Roche men's lacrosse battled Warren Wilson down to the wire in the regular season finale, but fell to the Owls, 14-11.
It was all Warren Wilson in the opening quarter and first 10 minutes of the second, jumping out to a 9-3 lead on La Roche.
It was 4-1 after one quarter, with the Redhawks lone goal coming from Robert Johnson, assisted by Nolan Lynam.
In the early stage of the second during the Owl's run, Ben Cadamore and Lynam both added goals to the three goal total.
Cadamore would help the cause in the late stages of the first half, adding a pair of goals to make it 9-5 at the break.
Out of halftime, Warren Wilson would control the third quarter, outscoring the red and white, 3-1, making it 12-6. Again, Cadamore was the one to come through with the goal.
La Roche battled in the fourth to get back into the game, scoring five unanswered to cut the deficit to 12-11 with 2:12 to go.
Lebron James opened the scoring, followed by Lynam, then a pair from Johnson and a fifth by Cadamore.
Unfortunately, the Owls would shut down the Redhawks the final 2:12 and add a pair of insurance goals to take the victory.
Goalie Connor Radecki would finish the night with 16 saves in the cage, facing 30 shots.
La Roche now prepares for the AMCC Tournament, entering as the #4 seed and will face top seeded Alfred State on Wednesday, Apr. 30 at 4 p.m.
