Redhawks Fall In First Road Game Of Season

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – La Roche men's lacrosse was unable to get past Thiel on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to the Tomcats, 25-9.

Despite the loss, the nine goals by the Redhawks was the most in a game since scoring 11 against Wells on April 15, 2023.

In the first quarter, Thiel jumped out to a 4-0 lead, the at 5:04, Robert Johnson scored for La Roche to make it 4-1, but the quarter ended with a Tomcat goal to make it 5-1 heading into the second.

Thiel had a strong second quarter, again scoring the first four goals, then at 7:34, Nolan Lynam scored a man up to make it 9-2. However, the final five goals belonged to the Tomcats, taking a 14-2 lead into the half.

After a pair of goals by the hosts opened the third, the Redhawks would score three in a 1:54 span, including one by Ben Cadamore and two by Lynam, one of which was assisted by Lebron James.

Thiel found the back of the net three more times following and Lynam closed the third quarter scoring with his fourth.

The Tomcats and Redhawks alternated scoring the first four goals of the fourth, with Johnson scoring both for the red and white.

Thiel would go on to score four of the final five in the game and Lynam picked up his fifth and La Roche's final goal.

The Redhawks ended the game with 33 shots and 19 shots on goal, with Lynam leading the team with 17 shots and 10 on net.

Goalie Connor Radecki faced 49 shots in the contest and came up with 24 saves.

La Roche continues its five-game road trip on Wednesday, Mar. 26 at Washington & Jefferson. Opening faceoff is slated for 4 p.m.
