Justin Scharphorn join the La Roche Coaching Staff as Golf Head Coach

The La Roche Athletic department is excited to announce that Justin Scharphorn will be taking over the helm of the La Roche Golf program.

Athletic Director Jim Tinkey said, "Our men's golf program has taken a huge step forward by bringing Coach Scharphorn on board. We've had two different head coaches over the past couple of seasons. We're thrilled to announce the hiring of Justin as our new men's golf coach. He'll be bringing some stability to the program, we're all anxious to see how far he can take our men's golf program."

Coach Scharphorn comes from the team at Wildwood Golf Club where he is working towards becoming a PGA Golf Professional. During his time at Wildwood Scharphorn put in the Captain's seat of tournament preparation, reaching, and golf shop merchandising. His passion has been working with children to develop their fundamental golf skills, and has been coaching Wildwood's PGA Junior League team for 4 years.

"I am very excited to join the team at La Roche," said Coach Scharphorn. "I look forward to working with the student athletes to develop their golf game and create a competitive culture within the program. Golf is a fun and rewarding sport and I can't wait to grow this program and share golf with students for years to come."

Coach Scharphorn attended Western Michigan University where he earned his degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing. He then worked in the Sport Marketing department where he developed his passion for collegiate athletics. After graduation Scharphorn entered the workforce until he decided to further his education at Duquesne University in 2016 where he earned his MBA two years later.

Coach Scarphorn was born and raised in Grand Haven, Michigan where he started to play golf with he was 12 and has loved the game ever since.
