Redhawks Compete at Altoona Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. - The La Roche University men's golf team competed as individuals on Saturday at the Penn St. Altoona Invitational. The Redhawks played at Sinking Valley Country Club, a 7,032 yard course with a slope rating of 137.

Sophomore Casey Hulbert (Kennedy Twp, PA/Montour) finished as LRU's top competitor, finishing T-14th overall with an 82. Saturday's score is the third best of Hulbert's collegiate career. Earlier this week, he shot his second best collegiate score (80) at the Youghiogheny Country Club.

Newcomer Mike Zappala (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) finished with a 126.

The hosts, Penn St. Altoona, won the invitational with a team score of 308. Penn State Behrend came in second with a 317 team score, Pitt-Bradford took third place with 322, and Mount Aloysius College was fourth with 330.

La Roche men's golf will close out their 2021 spring season next Sunday and Monday at the AMCC Championships. The two day event will take place at Peek'n Peak Resort in Clymer, New York Sunday, April 18th and Monday April 19th.
