
BRADFORD, Pa. – La Roche men's basketball took on conference unbeaten Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, but were unable to come out victorious, falling, 101-81.
The Redhawks opened the contest with the first five points and later on, just past the 15-minute mark, the lead was still at five, 14-9.
What followed was a 12-2 run by the Panthers and the lead changed hands at 21-16.
By the 7:41 remaining mark, Bradford found itself ahead, 35-24 and never allowed that lead to slip below seven, taking a 59-48 lead into the break.
Out of the break, the red and black battled back to within five, trailing 66-61 with 15:21 to go and then pushed the deficit to 71-67 with 10:26 to go.
Unfortunately, the hosts caught fire down the final 10 minutes of play, outscoring La Roche, 30-14, sealing the victory.
For the game, the Redhawks finished 28-for-67 (41.8%) from the floor and 6-for-23 (26.1%) from three. From the foul line, they made 19 of 28 attempts (67.9%).
On the other side, Pitt-Bradford finished 31-for-73 (42.5%) from the field, 13-for-21 (61.9%) from deep and 26-for-33 (78.8%) from the free-throw stripe.
The Redhawks had four players in double figures, led by Bryce Epps, scoring a 19 points, while adding four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Michael Brooks and Dominic Elliott both followed with 12 points and four rebounds each, while Isaiah Thomas contribute 11 points and eight rebounds.
La Roche returns home on Wednesday, Feb. 5 when they welcome Penn State Behrend to the KFC. Opening tip is set for 7 p.m.
