Redhawks Win by 3

Redhawks Win by 3

PITTSBURGH, PA - This afternoon La Roche triumphed over the Albion College Britons.

In the beginning, things did not feel in sync for the Redhawks. The team struggled to have a shot fall their way and it showed with a 45.8 % field goal percentage. Devon Darrell led the scoring charge in the first half with 10 points. Darrell made driving opportunities that would set an example for his team going into the second half of the game. He finished with 13 total points and led the team with 5 assists.

At the half, the Redhawks were down by 7 points, pushing the team to step up if they were going to be able to pull off a win with a very in-sync Britons team.

La Roche was able to meet the challenge head-on, elevating their field goal percentage to 66.7% for the second half. Joe Pipilo found his rhythm on the court leading the Redhawks with 14 points. The senior hit 4 three-point shots, totaling 12 points, and a field goal for two more. He also showed a large defensive presence by recording 2 blocks. Following his lead was Jordan Grayson with 13 buckets. He also recorded 4 rebounds.

In the seconds of the game, Michael Brooks created his own layup opportunity to put La Roche up by 3 points, ultimately forcing the Britons to take three-point range shots which did not fall their way. Brooks ended the game with 9 total points

The final Redhawk to earn double digits tonight was Desmond Ross with 10.

La Roche will take a quick week off for finals before they're back on the road traveling to Baldwin Wallace.
