Frederick Selected to NABC and D3hoops All-Region First Teams

McCANDLESS, Pa. - Forward Tyler Frederick's stellar Junior campaign has garnered him national recognition. Tuesday afternoon, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D3hoops.com both selected Frederick on the Great Lakes All-Region/Division First Team. Only 40 players in the nation were named to the All-Region/Division first teams.

Frederick is the first Redhawk to ever be named to both first teams. Last month, Tyler became the third La Roche men's basketball player to win the AMCC Player of the Year award (Zach Gould, 19' | Nathan Wojciechowski, 11') and second to win it outright. (Zach Gould, 19')

Frederick currently ranks fourth in program history with 616 career rebounds, putting him 301 rebounds short of the all-time mark owned by David Jackson (917). The Butler native reeled in a career-high 19 rebounds on two separate occasions this season and pulled down 15 or more boards in six games.

This season, Frederick put up 491 of his 934 career points. He is 425 points away from finishing top five in program history.

When asked about the accomplishment, Head Coach Hermie Carmichael said "What a great achievement for Tyler and our program.  His work ethic is endless and this is so well deserved.  We continue to tell him he can be an All-American. To have Zach Gould make 2nd team All Great Lakes last year and now Tyler make 1st this year just continues to show how our players are happy with our individual and programs success, but not satisfied. It's going to be fun watching Tyler chase after his individual and team goals next year!"
