Preview: Men's Basketball Faces Altoona in Season Opener

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Redhawks play their home and conference opener tomorrow, November 26 against Penn St. Altoona. The LRU women's basketball game will start following the conclusion of the men's game. The Kerr Sport & Fitness Center, LRU's home venue, recently had it's floor re-finished with new, updated La Roche University decals.

  • LRU lost their last two games at the Geneva "Coaches vs. Cancer" Tournament against Grove City (11/22) and Geneva (11/23)
  • In their last game against Geneva, despite not having AMCC Preseason Player of the Year Tyler Frederick, the Redhawks had season-high's in points (79), FG% (44%) and 3-PT (13).
  • Against Geneva, Senior guard Kennedy Smith set conference single game highs in points (32), 3-PT (7) and FGM (12); earning a spot on the All-Tournament team and AMCC Player of the Week honors
