PITTSBURGH, PA. - The La Roche men's basketball team will open the 2019-20 season tomorrow (11/15) at the Marietta Shrine Tournament against non-conference opponent Mount St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. The Redhawks will play Friday and Saturday at the Ban Johnson Arena in Marietta, OH. Saturday's opponent will be based on the results from Friday.

- The Redhawks were picked to finish first overall in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pre-Season Coaches Poll. Last season, La Roche finished 1st overall in the regular season standings with a perfect 18-0 record in conference play
- AMCC Preseason Player of the Year, Junior forward Tyler Frederick, is the only returning player in the conference to average a double-double last season (14.4 PPG | 10.2 RPG)
- Junior guard Austin Hannes was named the Redhawk to watch after averging 9.0 PPG and 42% 3-PT last season
- Reigning AMCC Coach of the Year Hermie Carmichael returns for his eighth season with La Roche
- LRU has ten returning players and five newcomers (all are Freshmen)

- The Lions are 0-2 this season; losing both games at thier home venue
- Last season, MSJ finished with an overall record of 8-17 and a 6-12 record in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conferece (HCAC) play
- MSJ is averaging 71.0 PPG this season while their opponents are averaging 82.5 PPG
- 6'6 Sophomore forward Devin Young is the Lions leading scorer averaging 16.0 PPG & 5.5 RPG (2nd on team)
- Three other Lions are averaging 10+ points per game (SO Tanner Clos: 15.0 PPG, FR Peyton Meadors: 13.0 PPG, SO Joel Day: 10.0 PPG)
