Redhawks Dominant On Glass As They Cruise At Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, PA -- The La Roche College men's basketball team clinched an AMCC Tournament bye, defeating Pitt-Bradford 80-54 in Saturday road action. The Redhawks extend their win-streak to eleven games and stay perfect in the AMCC at 14-0.

Pitt-Bradford got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 22-13 lead after shooting 60% over the opening eleven minutes. The Redhawks flipped the switch, outscoring the Panthers 24-8 for the remainder of the first half. La Roche held Pitt-Bradford to just one field goal over the final 3:31, and RayQuan Phifer went off, scoring 13 points in the half's closing minutes.

The Redhawks improved three-point shooting was a major reason for the turn around. La Roche hit 4 of 5 shots from long range over the course of the run.

The Redhawks tripled their lead by the 11:24 mark of the second half. La Roche limited the Panther offense, and continued to stroke it from beyond the arc. 15 of their first 19 second half points came on the long ball, including two three-pointers by Austin Hannes.

Pitt-Bradford cut the deficit back to thirteen, but Phifer and Hannes three-pointers quickly got the lead back to twenty. The Redhawks closed the game with six straight points to earn the twenty-six point win.

Phifer led all scorers with 22 points. Gould had a terrific all-around game with 14 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds. Darius Lawrence finished with 12 points, while Hannes had 9 points and 6 rebounds. Tyler Frederick pulled down 13 boards.

The Redhawks were dominant on the glass. They held a 48-22 advantage in rebounds, including a 31-6 edge in the second half. La Roche shot 50% and hit 15 of 33 three-pointers.
