La Roche and John Carroll brought an uptempo style to the Kerr Fitness Center. Both teams limited turnovers, but the Redhawks' transition defense held John Carroll in check on the fast break.

La Roche turned a one point deficit into a ten point advantage over a seven minute stretch in the first half. They dominated the glass over the course of the run and six different Redhawks scored points.

RayQuan Phifer got things going in the second half, picking off a pass and finding Frederick for a two-handed slam and a 51-41 lead.

John Carroll never let the Redhawks pull away, answering La Roche two-pointers with threes. The Blue Streak cut a 56-49 deficit to 56-54 at the 9:28 mark of the second half.

Coach Carmichael called a timeout and Phifer drained a three to go back up five.

John Carroll immediately answered with a three, and Coach Carmichael called another timeout to regroup his squad.

The Redhawks took over, holding John Carroll to just one fied goal over the next three minutes. La Roche did not allow the Blue Streak to pull down a rebound over the stretch, and rolled to victory.
