La Roche Drops One at W & J

WASHINGTON, PA - Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Washington & Jefferson College and La Roche University. Unfortunately for the Redhawks, the scorebook did not show a win on their end. 

The Redhawks took an early lead in the second inning. Josh Dreyer drew a walk, scoring one run. La Roche tallied six runs in the second inning. La Roche University's offense in the inning was led by Nate Darwin, Dreyer, Tanner Kobal, and Nathan Stutz, who all drove in runs.

La Roche struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Presidents giving up 13 runs.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Wash. & Jeff. tied things up at six. The Presidents took the lead for good in a tough 5th inning. 

Samuel DiCicco started the game for La Roche University. The righthander went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out one.

La Roche University smacked one home run on the day. Stutz put one out in the second inning.

Darwin led the team with two hits in three at-bats.
