BETHANY, W.V. - La Roche Baseball opened its season this afternoon with a matchup against the Bethany Bison. 

Bethany took a quick 2-run lead over the Redhawks in the first inning and then scored 2 more in the fourth. 

The Redhawks tried to make a comeback in the fifth and sixth inning off the bats of Tanner Kobal and Josh Dreyer but were unable to come back and catch the Bison. 

Nate Darwin hit a double for the Redhawks, and Tanner Kobal earned 4 hits. 

La Roche used three pitchers from their arsenal; Shane Murphy, Cameron Mauk, and Allen Minck. 

Murphy struck out 3 batters in 3 innings, Mauk struck out 2 in 4 innings, and Minck struck out 1 in 1 inning.
