Seymour Earns Spot on All-Region First Team

AMCC Pitcher of the Year senior Jake Seymour (Allison Park, PA/Hampton) was voted to the NCAA Division III Mideast All-Region first team Tuesday afternoon. Seymour was listed on both the D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Mideast first team. Seymour is the 11th player in program history to be selected to the Mideast All-Region first team. He joins Tyler Ferguson (2014), Tanner Wilt (2016) and Tre Thomas (2017) as the fourth Redhawk pitcher to be named to the All-Region first team. He is one of three starting pitchers in the region selected to the first team.

On May 21st 2021, Seymour became the fifth student-athlete at La Roche to be named the AMCC Pitcher of the Year. He went a perfect 8-0. His eight wins were the most among AMCC pitchers. His 0.81 ERA ranked first in the conference and 16th in NCAA Division III. In fact Seymour's 0.81 ERA is a single season record at La Roche and ranks second all-time in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference single season record book. Seymour is the only pitcher in conference history to post a sub 1.00 ERA and pitch at least 50.0 innings.

In 55.0 innings pitched, Seymour had 62 strikeouts, 14 walks and gave up only five earned runs. Seymour pitched a conference high seven complete games (2nd most in NCAA) and had four shutout victories. Seymour's 0.80 WHIP ranked first in the conference in 18th in Division III and his 4.88 hits allowed per nine innings ranked first in the conference and 22nd in Division III. Seymour had five games where he allowed three hits or less and never gave up more than six hits in a game. Seymour notched a career-high 11 K's twice in wins over Mt. Aloysius and Medaille. He was named the AMCC Pitcher of the Week twice this season and became the third Redhawk in program history to get an NCBWA nod.
