10 Redhawks Named to All-Conference Team, Seymour Pitcher of the Year, Rowe Coach of the Year

NORTH BOSTON, NY - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released the 2021 All-Conference Team and Awards Friday morning. Ten Redhawks were selected to the All-Conference Team, tied for the second most in program history. Seven of those student-athletes were named to the first team, tying a program record. Senior starting pitcher Jake Seymour (Allison Park, PA/Hampton) was dubbed the AMCC Pitcher of the Year. Seymour is the fifth pitcher in program history to receive the honor. Head coach Chase Rowe was named the AMCC Coach of the Year for a record setting eigth time.

Seymour proved this season to not only be one of the best pitchers in the conference, but one of the best in the country. Seymour went a perfect 8-0. His eight wins were the most among AMCC pitchers. His 0.81 ERA ranked first in the conference and 16th in NCAA Division III. In 55.0 innings pitched, Seymour had 62 strikeouts, 14 walks and gave up only five earned runs. Seymour pitched a conference high seven complete games (2nd most in NCAA) and had four shutout victories. Seymour's 0.80 WHIP ranked first in the conference in 18th in Division III and his 4.88 hits allowed per nine innings ranked first in the conference and 22nd in Division III. Seymour had five games where he allowed three hits or less and never gave up more than six hits in a game. Seymour notched a career-high 11 K's twice in wins over Mt. Aloysius and Medaille. He was named the AMCC Pitcher of the Week twice this season and became the third Redhawk in program history to get an NCBWA nod.

Senior second baseman Austin Hoffman was named to the first team All-Conference. Hoffman was also on the 2019 All-Conference thid team. In 23 games this season, Hoffman had 34 hits, 12 doubles, five home-runs, 29 RBI, and three stolen bases. Hoffman posted a .366 batting average, a .455 on-base percentage and a .656 slugging percentage. In the field, he had 38 putouts, 48 assists, 12 double-plays and a .977 fielding percentage. Hoffman finishes his career with 150 hits, 90 RBI and 39 doubles.

Senior right fielder Jay Novak was named to the All-Conference first team. Novak was also on the 2019 and 2018 All-Conference Team and was the 2018 Newcomer of the Year. In 23 games, Novak had 31 hits, eight doubles, three triples, two home-runs and 33 RBI. He posted a .341 batting average, a .388 on-base percentage and a .560 slugging percentage. In the field, Novak had 36 putouts and a .973 fielding percentage. Novak finishes his career with 143 hits, 25 doubles, seven triples and seven home-runs.

Senior relief pitcher Mike Nuzzo was named to the All-Conference first team. Nuzzo served as the Redhawks primary closer. Nuzzo went 3-0 on the season, had one save and made nine appearances. In 21.1 innings pitched, Nuzzo had 19 strikeouts, six walks and just four earned runs. His 1.69 ERA ranked second in the conference. In the four games Nuzzo came in as the closer during the regular season, he allowed no hits and no earned runs in 6.0 innings pitched.

Senior designated hitter Philip Pieto was named to the All-Conference first team. In 17 games with the Redhawks this season, Pieto had 21 hits, four doubles, three home-runs and 15 RBI. Pieto had a .356 batting average, a .443 on-base percentage and a .576 slugging percentage.

Sophomore catcher Nathan Stutz  was named to the All-Conference first team. Stutz started behind the plate in every single game for LRU. In 23 games, Stutz had 28 hits, six doubles, a home-run, two stolen bases and 14 RBI. Stutz had a .406 batting average, a .506 on base percentage and a .536 slugging percentage. Behind the plate, Stutz had 181 putouts, 15 assists, a .995 fielding percentage and caught five runners stealing.

Senior center fielder Dylan Urban was named to the All-Conference first team. In 21 games,  Urban tallied 30 hits, 11 doubles, two home-runs, four stolen bases and 21 RBI. He posted a .366 batting average, a .402 on-base percentage and .622 slugging percentage. In the outfield, he had 45 putouts, four assists and a .980 fielding percentage. Urban was named the AMCC Player of the Week on April 12. Urban finishes his career with 127 hits, 75 RBI 24 doubles, eight triples and six home-runs.

Senior pitcher Tristan Tinney was named to the All-Conference second team. In six starts for LRU, Tristan Tinney went 5-1 on the mound. In 39.2 innings pitched, Tinney recorded 48 strikeouts, 15 walks and 13 earned runs. His 2.95 ERA ranks fifth in the conference and his win total ranks tied for fourth.

Junior shortstop Ryan Lynn was named to the All-Conference second team. Lynn started at shortstop in every game for LRU. In 23 games, Lynn had 35 hits, five doubles, two triples, four home-runs, five stolen bases and 25 RBI. He posted a .354 batting average, a .402 on-base percentage and a .566 slugging percentage. In the field, Lynn had 23 putouts, 48 assists, eight double-plays and a .947 fielding percentage. Lynn was also named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team.

Junior pitcher Zack Oddi was named to the All-Conference third team. Oddi went 3-1 this season and pitched three complete games. His 2.83 earned run average ranked third in the conference. In 28.2 innings pitched Oddi had 14 strikeouts, five walks and nine earned runs.
