Seymour Selected as NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention

La Roche senior starting pitcher Jake Seymour (Allison Park, PA/Hampton) was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week honorable mention. There are only two other Redhawks in program history to earn NCBWA nods: Colin Feikles (14'), who was the 2014 AMCC Player of the Year and the programs first ever All-American and Luis Navedo (16'), another All-American student-athlete.

Seymour improved to 8-0 on the season in a 9-4 win over Penn St. Behrend in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship series on Wednesday May 19th. Seymour pitched his seventh complete game of the year in the win.

Last week Seymour got his seventh victory of the season in a 14-1 win over Alfred State College in the conference semifinals. In a seven-inning complete game performance, Seymour tied his career-high with 11 strikeouts. He let up just two hits, one earned run, and walked two batters. Seymour's 0.81 ERA ranks first in the conference and 13th in Div. III.

On Monday May 17th, Seymour was dubbed the AMCC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
