Redhawks Split With Marietta On Senior Day

The Redhawks scored 7 runs on 7 hits in the first inning and they never looked back. Hoffman and Spina led off the inning with singles and Professori reached to load the bases. 

La Roche followed with base to base baseball as Roebuck, Novak, Nania, and Urban followed with RBI singles and a 4-0 lead. Following an out, Kifer doubled into the right field gap for two runs. A Hoffman sac fly made it 7-0.

Th Redhawks lead reached double digits in the fourth inning. Professori lined a single into left field to score Hoffman. Novak, Urban, and Melendez followed with RBI singles and an 11-0 lead.

Hoffman added an unearned run in the fifth and Telesz threw a scoreless seventh to preserve the shutout.

Starting pitcher Tristen Tinney dominated. He threw six shutout innings and allowed just two hits. Tinney struck out six to earn the victory.

Novak scored twice and struck out two. Kifer and Urban each hit in two. Hoffman scored three runs while Spina and Professori scored twice.

 

Marietta 5 La Roche 4 

Kuderian struck out three batters in the first inning. Tre Thomas entered to start the second and tossed a scoreless inning. The Redhawks left the bases juiced in the bottom of the second but struck for two in the third.

Hoffman hit a one-out single up the middle and Professori followed with a two-out walk. Roebuck then gave the Redhawks a 2-0 lead with a two-out two-run double to the opposite field.

Thomas cruised through the fourth and fifth innings and Roebuck caught two runners trying to swipe second in the sixth inning. 

Roebuck went on the offensive in the bottom of the sixth, blasting a no-doubter deep over the left-centerfield wall to score Professori. 

Marietta cut the deficit to 4-2 with a pair of unearned runs in the seventh. Seymour came in and tossed a scoreless eighth.

The Pioneers grabbed a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth and La Roche left a runner on second to end the game.

Roebuck went 2 for 4 with a HR, double, 4 RBIs and a run. Professori scored twice and Hoffman once.

Thomas did not allow an earned run over six innings of work.
