Redhawks Blast Three Home Runs, Sweep D'Youville

Starting pitcher Travis Holman cruised through the first three innings as he did not allow a base runner until the fourth. The Spartans loaded the bases in the fourth but Holman got out of the jam with three strikeouts. 

Holman followed with a 1-2-3 fifth inning.

La Roche backed Holman's strong outing with a solid day at the plate. Joe Professori registered the winning run with a solo shot deep over the Redhawk wall in the first inning. 

Dylan Urban extended the lead to 2-0 in the third inning. Urban led off the inning with a double into centerfield and then took third on a wild pitch. Austin Hoffman then sent a ball into the centerfield gap to score Urban.

The Redhawks netted a pair in the bottom of the fourth. Tristen Tinney bunted his way on and Urban followed with a walk. Melendez put La Roche up three with a double to score Tinney. Urban advanced home on a balk in the next at bat.

Holman got out of a 1-out sixth inning jam and runners on the corners with a tailor-made 6-4-3 double play. 

The Redhawks broke it open in the bottom of teh sixth. Urban homered over the left field wall for a five run lead. Professori then drove in his second run of the game, advancing Spina home with a double. Professori scored on an error to put the Redhawks up seven. Kifer singled home Roebuck and Novak for a 9-0 lead after six innings.

Holman sent the Spartans down in order in the seventh to earn the complete game shutout. He allowed just four hits over seven innings and struck out 13 batters.

Urban went 2 for 2 with 3 runs, RBI, run, and home run. Professori scored twice and hit in two. Kifer provided two RBI.

The Redhawks used a two-out Roebuck RBI double to the centerfield wall to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Starting pitcher Alek Tesla sent the Spartans down in order in the top of the second.

La Roche's clutch two-out hitting continued into the second inning as Hoffman drove a 3-2 pitch into left field to score Brandon Nania

Hoffman made a great play to help Tesla throw a 1-2-3 third and Tinney beat out a two-out single to score Roebuck who led off the inning with a triple. 

Professori tied the school's all-time hits record with a solo blast in the bottom of the fifth. 

D'Youville got a run back in the top of the sixth but Chris Hanlon followed with scoreless seventh and eighth innings. 

Nania led off the bottom of the eighth with a double and Hoffman drove him in for a 5-1 lead.

Spina helped Hanlon toss a scoreless ninth inning to register the three inning save.

Hoffman went 4 for 5 with 2 RBI and a double. Roebuck and Professori each drove in a run and scored.

Tesla threw 6 innings allowing just one run and three hits while striking out six.
