Coach Dukate took the helm of the La Roche Baseball team in October of 2021 in preperation for the 2022 season. 

In his first season as head coach, Dukate led the Redhawks to a 15-20 record. The team went two rounds in the AMCC Championship Playoffs before they had a tough 6-5 loss against Alfred state. He had three players recieve all conference honors. 

Dukate joins La Roche from Saint Vincent College where he served as a baseball assistant coach, serving from 2012 to 2021, mainly working with pitchers for Saint Vincent.

During his time with the Bearcats nine pitchers under his tutelage earned All-Pac accolades. During the 2017 season Dukate coached Jimmy Malone, who under Dukate's guidance, became the first freshman pitcher from Saint Vincent to gain All-PAC honors. Malone later went on in the 2018 season to earn All-PAC First team honors after posting a 5-2 record with a 3.27 earned run average

Dukate graduated from NCAA Division II California University of Pennsylvania in 2006. He was a four-year member of the baseball team as a pitcher for the Vulcans. During his career with the Vulcans he amassed 10 wins and struck out 79 batters in 148.2 innings. During Dukate's senior year he threw 57.2 innings and had a 3.75 earned-run average, with a 5-4 record.

During his four year stint the Vulcans won the PSAC in 2004, and won the PSAC West twice in 2005 and 2006.

After graduation, Dukate was chosen by the Washington (Pa.) Blue Sox, a summer collegiate team comprised of players from Division I, II and III schools. After this he signed on to play pro-ball in Australia for the Brisbane All-Stars during their 2007-08 season

Dukate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California University of Pennsylvania, a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Vincent College, and is a certified strength and conditioning coach with USA Weightlifting.
