Cross Country to Compete in AMCC Meets

McCANDLESS, Pa. - La Roche University will be the host sight for the AMCC Men's Cross Country Championship and the AMCC Women's Cross Country Invitational. Both events are set to take place on Sunday, March 28th. The five kilometer course, designed by coaches Jeff Dailey and Kevin Myles, will be on La Roche's campus and the grounds of the Sisters of Divine Providence. The women's race is set to start at 1:00 p.m. and the men at 1:30 p.m. The races start and finish area will be west of Providence Heights.

On the men's side, competing teams include Alfred State College, Hilbert College, Penn State Behrend and La Roche University. Individuals from Mount Aloysius College will also be taking part in the race. Named as an AMCC "Runner to Watch" for LRU is sophomore Andy Domasky (Sparta, NJ/Pope John XXIII). Domasky won last year's LRU 5k Invitational with a time of 19:15.95 (average mile of 6:12). After his winning performance he was named the AMCC Runner of the Week. He ran his best 8k time (29:09.2) at last years AMCC Championship. Read the complete AMCC Men's Championship Preview, HERE.

For the women's invitational, the full teams participating include Alfred State College, La Roche University, and Penn State Behrend. Hilbert College and Mount Aloysius College will each have individuals participating in the race. Named as an AMCC "Runner to Watch" for LRU is junior Aaliyah Rawlings (Pittsburgh, PA/University Prep).Rawlings finished 4th at last year's LRU 5K invitational with a time of 31:19.02. She ran her best time of the season in 2019 at the Mercyhurst 6K Invitational with a time of 28:40.6. Read the complete AMCC Women's Championship Preview, HERE.
