Spectator Policy for Outdoor Sports on Campus

Spectator Policy for Outdoor Sports on Campus

La Roche University Athletics has announced its' outdoor spectator policy for fans attending outdoor games on campus during the Spring 2021 semester. Similar to the policy on fans at indoor sporting events, the decision was made in accordance with Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and the North Eastern Athletic Conference COVID-19 protocols along with local and state health recommendations.

A limited number of spectators will be permitted for baseball, softball and soccer games (AMCC) but NOT for men's or women's lacrosse games (NEAC).

View NEAC lacrosse spectators policy HERE.

Attendance for outdoor sporting events will be limited to:

  1. La Roche students
  2. Two immediate family members per student-athlete for home and visiting teams.

Fans will only be permitted to watch the games from designated areas.

  • This rule has been made out of an abundance of caution to protect student-athletes, coaches, and staff in an effort to prevent any positive COVID-19 cases, which would potentially jeopardize teams' seasons.
  • Fans will only be permitted to watch the games from the grass areas on the hillside
  • NO BLEACHER SEATING WILL BE AVAILABLE
  • Fans are encouraged to bring their chairs to set up in the grass

Student seating will be behind the outfield fence on the practice field.

Handicap accessible seating will be reserved. Please see a gameday manager to gain access to handicap seating.

Designated team areas will be closed off to the public and strictly limited to student-athletes, coaches, and staff members. This includes dugouts, team benches, warmup spaces, and other surrounding areas.

Parking is limited in the Baierl Athletic Complex. Once the spots are filled, overflow parking will be on campus.

Spectators must wear face masks at all times. CDC-compliant face masks should be worn by fans at all times.

Social distancing guidelines must be observed at a minimum of six feet. Spectators should put at least six feet between themselves and other spectators who are not members of the same household.

Spectators should not be in close proximity to student-athletes and coaches at the athletic facilities. To protect against the possibility of spreading COVID-19 to a team, fans should not be physically close to any players or coaches before, during, or after games while at La Roche's athletic facilities.

La Roche Athletics thanks you for following these guidelines. In doing so, you will help to protect the health of others while ensuring that our sports schedules will go on as planned this spring.
