Tre Thomas (BSB) and Chris Sylvis (MLAX) Dubbed AMCC Athletes of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, NY - Senior RHP Tre Thomas (Baseball) and Sophomore GK Chris Sylvis (Men's Lacrosse) were named AMCC Athletes of the Week by the conference Monday afternoon in their respective sports. The honor is the second straight for Sylvis and the third of Thomas' career. View the complete list of selections here.

Tre Thomas (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) led the Redhawks to a 5-4 victory against Swarthmore College Sunday afternoon at Day One of the Snowbird baseball classic on Sunday (3/9). Thomas got the start and his first win of the season. He gave up just one earned run in 6.1 innings pitched, striking out six batters while only walking one. Thomas threw just 80 pitches, as 55 of them were strikes.

Chris Sylvis (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) made 40 saves and posted a 57.1% save percentage in two games last week. In a 16-9 victory over Franciscan at home last Wednesday (3/4), the Redhawks' first home victory since 2016, Sylvis was a brick wall in net for LRU. He stopped 18-of-27 shots he faced (.667 SV%), squashing numerous one on one opportunities. It's the second-highest save percentage of Sylvis' career.
