Redhawks Coast To 3-0 Victory Over Clarks Summit

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – La Roche volleyball concluded its trip to Willamsport and the Lycoming Tip-Off Tournament, with a dominant 3-0 victory over Clarks Summit for the first win of the young season.

In the opening set, the Redhawks (1-2, 0-0 AMCC) cruised to a victory of 25-12.

It was even early in the set, until La Roche began to pull ahead, leading 13-7. From that point, the Redhawks would score 12 of the final 17 points to seal the opening set.

Set two was dominated by La Roche, as they coasted to a 25-8 victory.

After sitting 2-2 in the opening moments, the Redhawks would spark with a 10-0 run to open a 12-2 lead, but after Clarks Summit cut the deficit in half to 14-7, La Roche would go on to score 11 of the final 12 points to end the set.

In the third and final set, it was again all Redhawks, closing the contest with a 25-10 victory.

It was a 10-2 run to open the set this time, but again Clarks Summit chipped away to cut it to 13-7. However, La Roche would put their foot down, capitalizing on 12 of the final 15 points to seal the victory

Junior Quinn Hughes led the Redhawks offensively with eight kills, flanked by sophomore Kalli Grine with six and senior Rory McCune who had five.

Senior Madison Johnson again led the team with 8 assists, while fellow senior Emily Kasun chipped in six and freshman Tanner Kephart added five.

Defensively, La Roche allowed just eight kills the entire game, while only having to compile 23 digs, with senior Mackenzie Kerkan's seven leading the charge.

The Redhawks after a 1-2 weekend enter their home court for the first time in the 2023 season, when the host St. Vincent on Thursday, Sep. 7 at 7 p.m. for the home opener.
