Volleyball Gets It Done On Senior Night, Sweeps Pitt-Greensburg

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Redhawks made it a successful senior night, downing Pitt-Greensburg in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-13). La Roche breaks the .500 barrier and improves to 12-11 on the season.

The Redhawks started slowly but found their rhythm once Hannah Scott stepped up to serve. Scott ran off three straight aces and the Redhawks took their first lead.

Laura Nath was dominate on the left side of the net. She scored three of four points over a stretch where La Roche grabbed a 14-12 lead. Nath continued to make her presence felt at the net and Scott controlled the backline with 5 first set digs. The Redhawks took set 1 25-16.

Ingrid Spear stuffed a Bobcat attack and Bailey McDonald provided an ace early in the second set. Pitt-Greensburg however battled and would not let the Redhawks pull away.  La Roche held a slim 22-19 lead, but a Christine Aland block put the Redhawks up four. Sarah Storino snuck a kill past the Bobcats and a Pitt-Greensburg attack error ended it at 25-19.

Nath and Janet Aland kills got the Redhawks going early in the third set. Scott tallied off five straight points and the Redhawks ran away with the win.

Scott finished with 6 aces and has 10 in the past two matches. Nath had a match-high 12 kills while Storino and McDonald each had 12 assists.
