WAYNESBURG, PA -- The La Roche College volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (17-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-18) non-conference match on Friday evening at Waynesburg. The Redhawks fall to 9-11 on the season.
The Redhawks came out rolling in set #1. They opened on an 8-1 run and Bethany Nulph provided two aces. Waynesburg narrowed it to a 12-10 deficit, but La Roche answered scoring four straight points with Scott serving. Nath contributed the offense down the stretch with three kills.
La Roche led 8-6 in set #2 before Waynesburg strung together eight straight points and a 14-8 lead. The Yellow Jackets closed the set with three straight aces and a 25-16 win.
The Redhawks again held an 8-6 set #3 lead but Waynesburg took control midway through the set. Waynesburg went wire to wire in set #4 to win the match.
Nath finished with 13 kills and 15 digs. Hannah Scott had 23 digs and Ingrid Spear 4 blocks. Sarah Storino had 19 assists and Bailey McDonald 14 assists.
