Redhawks Rebound For Big Non-Conference Victory, Scott Fastest Redhawk to 1000 Digs

GREENVILLE, PA -- The La Roche women's volleyball team took the road to pick up a big non-conference victory on Monday night. The Redhawks were in the middle of a tough two week stretch but rebounded tonight by sweeping a quality Thiel team 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-14).

Hannah Scott surpassed a huge milestone becoming the fastest Redhawk to record 1000 career digs. Scott registered a game-high 28 digs to earn the disctinction.

The Redhawks won each set in very different ways. Neither team could gain traction in the first game with La Roche scoring the sets final four points to win 25-20. Laura Nath closed the set with two straight kills.

La Roche trailed 20-18 in set two before eeking out a thrilling 26-24 win. The Redhawks tied it at 24-24 and a ball handling error and Janet Aland kill ended it. Game 3 was never in jeopardy as the Redhawks opened on a 14-1 run and won by eleven.

La Roche's plan going into the night was to feed Laura Nath and the plan paid off. Nath contributed double-digit kills while hitting into just two errors. Seven different Redhawks set up kills including Janet Aland who finished with 8 of the team's twenty assists.

As good as Scott was on the defensive end, she was even better on serves. Scott recorded 5 serving aces and the Redhawks added two more.
