VALENCIA, Pa. - The La Roche University women's tennis team dropped their home opener against Penn St. Altoona Sunday afternoon, 6-3. The Redhawks played today's match on their home courts, the Lakevue Athletic Club. La Roche is now 1-1 this season in conference play.

The duo of seniors Jazmyn Davis & Allie Mroczkowski won a very close second doubles match, 8-7. The tiebreaking game went 9-7 in favor of LRU. Davis and Mroczkowski have gone 5-2 in their last seven doubles matches together dating back to last season.

The Redhawks picked up two wins in the singles matches. Freshman Isabella Lane won her second singles match 7-5, 6-4. Lane is 2-0 this season in singles matches and 3-1 overall. Jazmyn Davis won her third singles match 6-3, 6-2. Davis was the only Redhawk to go 2-0 on the day. She also owns a 2-0 record in singles matches this season.

La Roche plays their next match on Friday, April 9th at home vs. Mt. Aloysius. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
