Tennis Drops Close One at Penn State Altoona

ALTOONA, PA -- The La Roche women's tennis team finished just one point shy of picking up an important AMCC Conference victory. The Redhawks fell to Penn State Altoona 5-4 despite solid performances in both doubles and singles. 

#2 doubles dropped an 8-2 game but Kylie Banister and Miranda Lasher combined for a 9-7 victory at #1 doubles. Both Banister and Kirsten King overcame 6-3 losses in the first set to earn singles victories. Banister finished off #1 singles by going 6-1, 10-4 while King played two close sets winning #3 singles 7-6, 10-8. Lasher cruised at #4 singles while Rochelle Selzer dropped a three set thriller at #2 singles. The Redhawks were forced to forfeit at #3 doubles and #5 and #6 singles.

The Redhawks travel to Mt. Aloysius tomorrow.
