PITTSBURGH, PA -- The La Roche women's tennis team dropped an AMCC Conference match to Medaille on Saturday. The Redhawks trailed 2-1 after doubles play and ultimately fell 6-3.
La Roche was not able to pick up a point at first and third doubles but Rochelle Selzer and Kirsten King pulled ahead 8-6 at #2 doubles. The Redhawks entered singles play needing to outscore Medaille 4-2 but were only able to come out ahead at #2 and #4 singles. King battled to the third set at #3 singles before falling 4-6, 6-4, 6-10. Miranda Lasher was excellent earning a 7-5, 6-4 at #4 singles while Selzer overcame a deficit to win 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 at #2 singles.
The Redhawks are still in contention for postseason play but must win their remaining three AMCC Conference games. La Roche hosts D'Youville in an important match on Sunday at Vincentian.
