Lasher Three Set Win Lifts Redhawks to Thrilling Victory

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The La Roche women's tennis team won a thriller in AMCC Conference play on Friday evening. Miranda Lasher won an incredible three set tiebreaker to help lift the Redhawks to a 5-4 victory over Pitt-Greensburg.

The Redhawks took a 2-1 lead after doubles. Lasher and Kylie Banister started things off with an 8-3 win at #1 doubles. Rebecca Selzer and Kirsten King cruised for an 8-1 victory in #2 doubles.

La Roche fell in straight sets at #1 and #6 singles and King played an incredibly gutsy three sets before falling at #3 singles. Selzer was excellent winning at #2 singles winning 6-1, 6-1.

In the end, all eyes were on #4 singles where Lasher overcame a deficit to win 7-6 (5), 5-7, (7-4) and lift La Roche to victory. 

The Redhawks will look for a second straight victory tomorrow at Pitt-Bradford.
