ERIE, PA -- The La Roche women's tennis team came just a point shy of upsetting the defending AMCC Champions. The Redhawks took Penn State Behrend to the brink before falling 5-4 on Saturday afternoon.
Miranda Lasher and Kylie Banister continued their strong play by sweeping #2 doubles. The Redhawks needed four points heading into singles play and picked up three.
La Roche dropped first and second singles but Rochelle Selzer cruised 6-0, 6-0 in #3 singles. Miranda Lasher was nearly perfect winning 6-1, 6-0 at #4 singles. Rebecca Franks had a quality showing at #5 singles taking it 6-3, 6-2. The Redhawks however fell at #6 singles.
The Redhawks return to action on Tuesday at Thiel College.
