Kevin Girard is entering his second year as head coach of the women’s tennis program. Girard led the Redhawks to an AMCC Tournament Semifinal appearance last season.

Girard joins La Roche after two successful seasons as head coach of the Emory & Henry College men’s tennis team in Emory, VA. Girard coached the men’s and women’s teams at Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) from 2007-2013 where he was 2013 Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year. In men’s tennis, he led Lawrence to the MWC Tournament four out of six years and to a school record 16 victories in 2011 on a squad that reached the ITA Midwest Regional. The women’s team won the Midwest Conference North Division Title in 2008 and 2010 and seven individual conference championships in his six years.

Girard was the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Carnegie Mellon University from 2005 until 2007. At CMU, he helped coach eight All-Americans and was part of a coaching staff that won UAA Coaching Staff of the Year for both the men's and women's programs in 2005-06. Both teams were ranked that season with the women reaching as high as 11th in the nation and the men 14th.

Girard got his start in coaching at the high school level after graduating from Michigan Technological University in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences. He was a four-year letterwinner at Michigan Tech and holds the school record in career doubles victories.

Girard currently serves as an assistant tennis pro at the Fox Chapel Racquet Club.
