Women's Soccer Records First Conference Victory

PITTSBURGH, PA - This afternoon the Women's Soccer team dived into conference play with their first matchup of the season against the Pitt-Bradford Panthers. There were a few firsts that took place during this game that made the final 4-0 shutout possible.

  • Jules Hornikel recorded her first ever career shutout as a Redhawk goalie

    • Hornikel recorded 4 saves in today's contest

  • Alexis Nudds scored twice, her second and third goals of the season

    • Nudds' first goal was assisted by Leti Alcaraz Romero

    • Second goal was unassisted

    • Nudds also scored the game winning goal

  • Alcaraz Romero then scored a goal of her own from a throw-in from Janelle Amadio

    • Earning Romero her first goal of the season, and Amadio an assist

  • Victoria Biagetti scored the final goal to end the game 4-0

  • Kaylan Cannon, Olexia Johnson, Hornikel, Alcaraz Romero, and Amadio were on the pitch the entire 90 minutes of the matchup

The Redhawks will be back with conference play on October 8th against Penn State-Behrend in Erie, PA. Kick off is scheduled for 4:30 PM following the Men's Soccer contest.
