Women's Soccer Ties Undefeated Pitt Greensburg

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - La Roche women's soccer held Pitt Greensburg scoreless for the first time all season in 0-0 tie, the first for both teams this season. Up until today's match, the Bobcats had won 17 straight games. UPG remains one of only three undefeated teams in Division III this season. The Bobcats have established themselves as one of the best teams in the nation. Entering today's game, Pitt Greensburg averaged 3.18 goals/game (1st in AMCC, 24th in D-III) and 0.29 GAA (1st in AMCC, 6th in D-III). La Roche's last tie was against in Pitt Bradford on October 14th, 2017 in 1-1 finish. 

For the Redhawks, today's game was a must-win in order make the postseason and continue their season. They finish conference play with a record 4-5-1 and 7th in the overall standings. Last season, the Redhawks finished 2-7 in conference play.

La Roche's offensive producers will be back next season. 17 of the Redhawks 20 goals this year have been scored by underclassmen. Freshman forward Ashley Mineard led the way with 7 goals (1st on team, T-7th in AMCC) and 16 points (1st on team, 11th in AMCC). They will also be bringing back starting goalkeeper Junior Isabelle Orange, two-time AMCC Defensive Player of the Week in 2019. The teams toughest replacements will be defensive starters Seniors Jessica Nakamura and Samantha Terry. The two have combined for over 100 starts in their careers and helped the Redhawks to three shutout victories this season.
