PITTSBURGH, Pa - The Women's Soccer Team improved to 2-1 on the season after defeating St. Vincent College in the closing minutes of the contest. Junior Forward Amber Kubiak started the charge after coming up from midfield and passing a beautiful ball to Rylee Pucci who took a shot that led to a corner kick. Kubiak then took the corner and put the ball at the back of the goal area where fellow Junior Forward Allesandra Perri headed it  past the keeper and into the back of the net, scoring the winning (and lone) goal of the game.

Although the match was scoreless until the last few minutes, La Roche dominated the time of possession for the entirety of the game. The offense took a whopping 19 shots (five on goal) compared to the Bearcats three (zero on goal). With the non-conference win, La Roche improves to 5-1 in their last 6 matchups versus St. Vincent.

On the defensive front, Seniors Samantha Terry and Jessica Nakamura limited the number of attacks and kept the ball out of the defensive zone.

The Redhawks hit the road on Monday to face Thiel and will be back home for their first conference game against Medaille on September 21st at 7:00 pm.
