Ceravolo Reaches Milestone in AMCC Win

BUFFALO, NY -- The Redhawks took the road on Saturday night and were dominant in a 5-1 win at Medaille. Kayla Zolgus registered her first career goal and Vanessa Ceravolo scored twice to become the fourth player in school history with 50+ goals.

La Roche fired off seven shots before breaking through in the twenty-sixth minute. Zolgus provided the first goal with a blast that beat the Medaille goalkeeper to the upper right corner of the net.

Ceravolo got on the board with her milestone goal and the game winning goal in the thirty-seventh minute and followed with her second of the game just three minutes later.

It looked as if the Redhawks would enter halftime with a 3-0 lead. Kerri Phillis however could not be denied and buried a Kayla Zolgus feed as the clock struck 45:00. La Roche outshot Medaille 10-0 at halftime.

The Redhawks added to their lead with a goal in the fifty-eighth minute. Samantha Chambers got through the Maverick defense and found Carly Wilson for her first goal of the season.

Medaille broke the shutout with a goal in the sixty-sixth minute.

The Redhawks outshot Medaille 22-1 and 15-1 in shots on goal. Zolgus, Phillis, Ceravolo (2) and Wilson scored goals while Zolgus and Chambers added assists.
