Resilient Redhawks Earn Draw on the Road at Waynesburg

Waynesburg, PA. The Lady Redhawks soccer team continued their strong play in a well-earned draw on the road to Waynesburg University 2-2. For the third straight match the club battled back, this time showing resiliency from a 2-0 deficit. Vanessa Ceravolo put in the equalizer on pass from Marissa Johnson that led to a breakaway goal (2-2, 82:21).

The offense attack, which has been building over the last three games continued for the Lady Redhawks as an incredible (26) shot attempts were taken, and (11) were on goal. The goalie for Waynesburg, Heather Fraser, kept the scoreboard scoreless for La Roche until Ryleigh Gapzinski found the net off a rebound from Ceravolo (2-1, 72:45). Nikkie Davis and Christina Golonka scored the first half goals for Waynesburg. Isabelle Orange came in for the second half to shut out Waynesburg for the final (65) minutes.

Over their last three matches the Lady Redhawks have averaged (18) shots and (9) shots on goal leading to a (2-0-1) against their neighbor schools from the Presidents Athletic Conference. They look to continue their success as they visit Grove City on Friday, September 15.​
