Redhawks Fall to Geneva in Close Matchup

Pittsburgh, PA- The Lady Redhawks fell to the Geneva Golden Tornadoes 3-2 in tough matchup Saturday. Coming off a 2-1 win over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets Friday, La Roche was looking for their second win of the weekend.

Amanda Ceravolo, who scored Friday just two minutes into the first half beat her previous time by scoring against the Golden Tornadoes just 1:25 into the first half, giving the Redhawks an early lead. Assist made by Vanessa Ceravolo.

With the continuation of the back and forth battle, Geneva found the back of the net in both the thirty third and thirty ninth minute, taking the lead 2-1.  

The Redhawks caught Geneva offside four times in the first half.

Allesandra Perri tied up the game for La Roche just one minute into the second half off of a feed from Amanda Ceravolo.

The second half was full of missed shots for the Redhawks, as they kept the Golden Tornadoes out of their end of the field.

Geneva scored in the eighty seventh minute off of a breakaway, taking the lead 3-2, ensuring a win.

The Redhawks outshot Geneva 12-6 and caught the Golden Tornadoes offside a total of five times throughout the match.

La Roche continues their non-conference schedule Friday, September 9th as they travel to St. Vincent College in Latrobe.
