Women's Soccer Advances to 11th AMCC Semifinals with Win Over Pitt-Greensburg

GREENSBURG, PA – Bethanie Moreschi scored twice and Maria DiPerna netted a shutout to lead La Roche women's soccer (9-7-3) to a 4-0 win over Pitt-Greensburg (7-8-3) and advance to their eleventh AMCC Tournament Semifinals.

Pitt-Greensburg conceded two own goals in the 5th and 38th minutes to put the Lady Redhawks up 2-0 and Moreschi added two more in the 60th and 90th minutes to seal a 4-0 victory.

Moreschi's two goals were the 67th and 68th of her career to rank just two behind Lindsey Wagerer for first all-time. Shelby Novak registered her second assist of the season and Marina Mattone and Alexandra Rogers each recorded two shots each. Katherine Golebie, Sarah Stierer, Kelsey Vranesevic, and Morgan Whitney combined with goalkeeper Maria DiPerna to net their third shutout in a row and fourth in the past five games.

The Lady Redhawks outshot Pitt-Greensburg 13-4 and attempted six more corner kicks than the host Bobcats.

It is on to Pitt-Bradford for the Lady Redhawks. La Roche will travel to play the #2 Panthers in the AMCC Tournament Semifinal on Wednesday at 2PM.
