PITTSBURGH, PA – Lady Redhawks' goalkeeper Maria DiPerna made 5 saves in La Roche women's soccer's (4-6-1, 0-3) 2-0 loss to Penn State Behrend (3-7, 2-1) on Saturday in an AMCC Conference game.
Melissa Huff put the visiting Lions up less than a minute into the contest and scored the final tally in the 60th minute to make it 2-0.
Freshman Hayley Shaw led the Lady Redhawks with 2 shots and Taylor Breen and Jessica Greco had a shot on goal apiece. DiPerna made 5 stops for La Roche.
Despite the loss, La Roche played strong defense and limited Penn State Behrend to just 7 shots on goal. The Lady Redhawks also held Penn State Behrend to just 2 corner kicks in the first half.
La Roche women's soccer will travel to Mt. Aloysius on Wednesday for an AMCC Conference game. The Mounties are currently winless in conference play.
