Women's Lacrosse Records First United East Conference Win

AURORA, NY - Women's Lacrosse traveled to Upstate New York this afternoon for their final conference match against the Wells College Express, where the team recorded their first win. 

La Roche took some time to heat up, but in the fourth and final quarter, the Redhawks could bare down defensively and excel offensively. The team held the Express scoreless in the last period. Jules Hornikel in net earned 12 saves this afternoon, being the main piece to the defensive puzzle. Jade Fuccaro defensively led the team in caused turnovers with 4. She also recorded 2 of the La Roche goals. 

Offensively, Kinsey Sperling led the team with 5 goals, including the goal that took the lead for the Redhawks. She also earned 2 ground balls and 1 assist. 

Malia Sigg earned 4 goals, 2 ground balls, and 2 caused turnovers. 

Cece Liguori netted 3 goals, an assist, 2 ground balls, and 2 caused turnovers. 

Isabella Fittipaldo led the team in assists with 3, and earned a goal of her own. 

La Roche defeated the Express 15-8 to close out their conference season. 

The team will play one final game at home this upcoming Wednesday against Trinity of DC. The first draw control will take place at 4:00 PM.
