Women's Lacrosse Battles in the Rain

PITTSBURGH, PA - Women's Lacrosse hosted a cold and rainy contest this afternoon against the Wilson College Phoenix. The Redhawks fought through the stormy conditions but were unable to come out with a favorable result.

Bright spots on this rainy day for the team started with Jade Fuccaro scoring two goals. She was assisted both times, once by Isabella Fittipaldo and the other by Jules Hornikel

Also adding a goal to the Redhawks' tally was Kinsey Sperling who took her goal all on her own.

Fuccaro in addition to her two goals recorded 2 shots on goal, 2 draw control wins, 2 ground balls and 1 caused turnover.

Tea Smith led in draw control wins with 3, as well as adding 2 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers, and a shot on goal.

Hornikel led the defense this afternoon. The freshman stood sentinel in the goal for the entire 60 minutes and earned 11 saves, 6 caused turnovers, and 6 ground balls.

The team will be back on Wednesday on their home turf against Thiel for a 4 PM matchup.
