Women's Lacrosse Fails to get Passed a Tough Maverick Defense

PITTSBURGH, PA - This afternoon the women's lacrosse team of La Roche University faced off with a conference matchup against the Medaille Mavericks.

It was not the outcome they wanted, but the team was still able to hold their heads high, and put up a good fight.

The lone goal scorer for the Redhawks was Jade Fuccaro. She scored unassisted in the final period.

Malia Sigg and Jasey Reiser both got shots off against the Maverick defense.

Leading defensively was Cece Liguori who won four draw controls, scooped up four ground balls, and caused one turnover. She was also able to get one shot off against a tough Medaille defense.

Courtney Spiering, and Tea Smith both each snagged two ground balls in today's contest.

Tara Lasher stood sentry in goal and was able to keep six balls from finding the back of her net.

The Redhawks will be back in action at home tomorrow to celebrate senior day, and Diversity and Inclusion Awareness in their conference matchup with the Seahawks. First draw is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
