Women's Lacrosse Plays First Conference Matchup

PITTSBURGH, PA - Today women's lacrosse played their first conference game of the season against the Morrisville Mustangs. The Redhawks fought through white out conditions, snow, hail, and a brief rain shower in lower 30 degree weather. Unfortunately even though the battle was hard fought, it was not one the team will be walking away victorious.

There were still some victories for the Redhawks; the team got the first shot off of the game. Cece Liguori scored two goals in today's contest. Malia Sigg assisted her on one of those two goals.

Also scoring tonight was Jasey Reiser, assisted by Courtney Spiering, Jade Fuccaro, and Spiering herself put one in the net with the help of Liguori.

Getting shots off today against a touch Mustang defense were Malia Sigg, and Tea Smith

Reiser and Liguori tied today in ground balls with nine each. Reiser was also accredited for causing turnover.

The Redhawks won possession in 11 draw control, and Liguori won 9 of those 11.

Defensively, Tara Lasher had 18 saves during her 60 minute stint in the goal. Lasher also completed her 100th career save as a Redhawk, and is now at 118 saves in her career.

La Roche will be back in action tomorrow in another conference matchup with the Wells Express.
